Sadness, disappointment, severe challenge are events in life, not life itself.

Do you take time to discover each day how beautiful your life can be? How long has it been since you watched the sun set? What of the wonder of a cloudless night when the Lord unveils the marvels of His heavens—the twinkling stars, the moonlight rays? When last did you observe a tiny rosebud form? You are one of the noblest of God’s creations. His intent is that your life be gloriously beautiful regardless of your circumstances. As you are grateful and obedient, you can become all that God intends you to be.
Sadness, disappointment, severe challenge are events in life, not life itself.
~Richard G. Scott (Special Witness: Finding Joy, April 1996)

"Often the deep valleys of our present will be understood only by looking back on them from the mountains of our future experience. Often we can’t see the Lord’s hand in our lives until long after trials have passed. Often the most difficult times of our lives are essential building blocks that form the foundation of our character and pave the way to future opportunity, understanding, and happiness."

Never Alone

The past few months have been pretty interesting for me. Although it may not be visible from my everyday mundane tasks, they have brought much growth, challenges, and even some change. Most importantly they have brought me closer to God and Jesus Christ. As I sat at the piano tonight I came upon a Jenny Phillips song and it totally and completely hit me. I finally had an emotional release that was a long time coming. For the few people that do check up on my blog every once in a while, I wanted to share the song. It's called "True to You" by Jenny Phillips. When I lived in Utah I sang in Jenny's fireside group at least once a month. She is one of the most amazing woman I have ever met in my life. She lives a life of true dedication to her beliefs and is a disciple of Jesus Christ in every aspect of her life. She is one of those people that you talk to and they just make you want to be a better person. Her songs have always had a peace for me but this one tonight was definitely an answer to prayers.

"When one door closes,
we know another door will open.
Sometimes we may stand in the hallway for a long time
before that other door opens."
